Caramelised Banana Oats

This delicious, steaming hot breakfast will be sure to satisfy anyone’s sweet tooth during the cooler months! Dig in to our creamy caramelised banana oats for your next indulgent breakfast date at home.

Makes 1 serving.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup oats
  • 1 cup Pure Harvest Coco Quench Coconut Milk
  • 1 large banana, sliced
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 1/4 cup Chef’s Choice Maple Syrup
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Dash of vanilla essence
  • Sprinkle of cacao nibs
  • 1 tbsp Melrose Almond Butter

Method

  1. Combine the oats and coconut milk in a small saucepan over medium heat and cook until they reach your desired consistency (some prefer runny oats, others prefer goopy, sticky oats – up to you what you’d like!)
  2. While the oats are cooking, heat the coconut oil in a frying pan over medium-high. Add the maple syrup, cinnamon and vanilla and stir to combine.
  3. Once everything starts bubbling, add in your sliced banana. Cook for about 5 minutes and make sure all the banana slices have been coated in the syrup mixture.
  4. Once done, stir in half the caramelised bananas with your oats. Dish out the oats into a bowl and top with the remaining half of the bananas.
  5. Top with your fave toppings (we did cacao nibs and a tablespoon of almond butter) and dig in!
