World Vegan Day: Our Vegan Top Picks

World Vegan Day is celebrated on the 1st of November every year across the globe. The annual celebration draws attention to the advantages of veganism for both personal and moral reasons, whether it be for personal health, environmental concerns, or animal welfare.

If you’re a new or a well-seasoned vegan (or not vegan at all!), here are our top vegan products that you NEED to try!

MILK ALTERNATIVES

Okay, hear me out… This is the most boring vegan choice to start with! But in all honesty, I think this is the perfect place to start. Like most things in life, we must learn to crawl before we walk. How often do you drink milk? Every day? In your coffee? In your baking? Swapping your cow’s milk to a milk alternative like almond milk, oat milk or rice milk is probably the easiest and most effective way to begin transitioning to plant based eating. I will only recommend the creamiest and most “milk-like” alternatives below – no room for watery, separated milks in this list.

 ULU HYE – Almond Mylk Base 120g 

A jar of what looks like almond butter, this mylk base can be turned into milk when blended with water. With minimal and clean ingredients, it is made from just raw almonds, arrowroot, mesquite, macrobiotic sea salt. Add a spoonful to your blender with a litre of water (the great thing is that you can make more or less depending on how much you need). Once blended, you can use the milk straight away the milk can be used straight away!

 OATLY – Oat Milk Chocolate 1L 

Oatly Chocolate Milk is made from oats and cacao, containing B and D vitamins. The vegan friendly milk alternative is calcium rich and has a delicious chocolate flavour. This stuff is ‘guzzle straight from the carton’ worthy. If you’re ever missing choccy milk, this is the perfect alternative and doesn’t taste ‘vegan’.

 BONSOY – Soy Milk 1L 

The OG milk alternative, it’s been around since the 90’s and probably your go-to in transitioning from cow’s milk. I still love this trusted guy. If you love the creaminess of regular milk in your coffee than soy milk is probably your closest match. Soy milk is perfect for baking and cooking too as its creaminess consistency reflects full cream cow’s milk.

CHOCOLATE

Finding a good vegan chocolate can be tricky, we have all been there. The ones at the grocery store just don’t cut it! They either taste like pure cacao (looking at you 90% dark chocolate) OR they taste so artificial and full of additives that they aren’t even enjoyable… Let me present to you, your new favourite chocolates.

 LOVING EARTH – Salted Caramel Chocolate 80g 

Believe me when I say Loving Earth chocolate is sooo creamy! It (in my opinion) is even creamier than regular milk chocolates. You MUST try the Salted Caramel flavour (a cult favourite) and don’t skimp out by buying the single serving, you’re going to want to eat the whole block when you try this one.

 LOCO LOVE – Butter Caramel Pecan with Cinnamon 30g 

Are you that friend who loves rocking up everywhere with a block of chocolate as a gesture of appreciation? Well, your friends are going to love you for this one. Loco Love is the perfect gift when you’re wanting to spoil someone with chocolate. The packaging is so beautiful and the chocolate inside is even more beautiful. This chocolate is honestly drool worthy and will leave you feeling like the wholesome health queen you are. As they say, it truly IS a delicious way to add a bit of magic to your day.

If you’re missing those regular Peanut Butter Cups, then this is your guy. Packaged in handy servings of two, you’re sure to satisfy your sweet tooth (or share it with a friend so you can discuss how good being vegan is!) I love chucking these into my work lunches for that afternoon chocolate craving.
