Vegan Rum Balls

What Australian Christmas table is complete without the iconic rum ball? Whip these up for that instant ‘Christmas is coming’ feeling, minus the dairy! While the rum in this recipe gives the rum balls their iconic name, feel free to leave out as an alcohol-free alternative.

 Ingredients: 

 Method: 

  1. Crush the biscuits into a fine crumb using a food processor, or by placing the biscuits in a snap lock bag and crushing with your hands or a rolling pin.
  2. Combine the crushed biscuits, coconut and cacao in a large mixing bowl, then add in the condensed coconut milk, maple syrup and rum (if you’re using) and mix. If you’re struggling to combine the mixture, zap in the microwave for 30 seconds to gently heat the condensed milk. Cool the mix in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  3. Roll, roll, roll! You can scoop tablespoons of mixture to help keep the size consistent. Roll them in the extra desiccated coconut and then place back into the fridge to firm up.
  4. Et voila! Enjoy your vegan rum balls, and try to save some for Christmas Day!
