Skin type. Let’s talk skin type. Do you struggle with dry, scaly skin? Or perhaps with shiny, oily looking and feeling skin? This is all to do with your skin type! It’s time to unpack our skincare 101: products by skin type below…

DRY SKIN

Dry skin can be caused by an array of factors, two of which include under-active sebaceous glands and the environment around us. To break down the mumble jumble, having under-active sebaceous glands just means that your skin struggles to hold moisture due to a lack of oil resulting in scaly, dry, and itchy skin.

If you have dry skin make sure you keep your skin hydrated regularly with a good moisturiser, drink lots of water and make sure you’re using sunscreen!! Sun exposure tends to aggravate already dry skin.

OILY SKIN

Having oily skin can be caused by having over-active sebaceous glands, resulting in the skin to produce more oil. This can leave skin looking shiny, and pores to be enlarged. Although it’s imperative to keep oily skin hydrated and moisturised with light oil-free moisturises etc, it’s important to stay clear from harsh formulas as this can aggravate the skin!
