Gentle relief of constipation usually within 30 minutes. Microlax may be used whenever there is a need to relieve constipation or open the bowels, when there are certain disturbances of bowel movement or opening of the bowels, and in preparation for examination of the rectum (back passage). Microlax is a fast acting enema which works to soften bowel motions and gently assist bowel emptying without irritating the lining of the bowel.
Each MICROLAX Enema tube contains the following active ingredients: sodium citrate dihydrate 450 mg, sodium lauryl sulfoacetate 45 mg and sorbitol 3.125 g. MICROLAX Enema also contains glycerol, sorbic acid and purified water to 5 ml.
Adults and children: Administer the contents of one tube rectally as a single dose.
Do not use:
If you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients listed on the carton
If the cap is separated from the tube as it has been opened
Caution:
Do not swallow. If accidentally ingested seek medical attention immediately.
Do not remove tube from carton until immediately before use.
Avoid prolonged use of laxatives as it may lead to dependence.
If symptoms persist seek medical advice.
Drink plenty of water. Increase fibre in diet except in cases of medication induced constipation.
