FLO Sinus Care is non-medicated and is safe to use as often and long as required. In order for effective rinsing of the sinus cavities to occur, patients are required to use large volumes of douche fluid administered at low pressure through the nose. When using large volumes of fluid in the sinus cavities it is important for the fluid to be as close to the composition of the body’s own fluids as possible. When a sachet of FLO is reconstituted with cool boiled water, a solution closely resembling the body’s own extra cellular fluid is produced. Treatment and Prevention of Acute Sinusitis. FLO Sinus Care should be used to assist in the treatment of acute sinusitis and should be continued for at least a week. In some cases longer therapy is required to ensure that infected materials do not accumulate in the sinus cavities. You will be guided by your healthcare professional as to the length of time for which treatment should be continued. The product can also be used to prevent attacks of sinusitis in people who are prone to getting this infection as a result of simple colds and flu. If used at the onset or during a cold or flu, the sinuses are kept clean to optimise your recovery. Treatment for Chronic (or long term) Sinusitis. Patients with long term infection of the sinus cavities are required to douche their nose and sinuses on a daily basis to reduce the pus and debris that constantly accumulates in those cavities. Hay fever and Industrial Dust Related Symptoms. FLO Sinus Care is ideal for washing the nose and sinuses to reduce the pollen load in people experiencing symptoms of hay fever. Since the douche fluid gains access to most of the upper airways it ensures a really good ‘wash’ and removal of pollen from almost all of the upper airways. This is in contrast to a pump spray which can only rinse the nasal cavity.
