Children’s Parachoc works by gently lubricating the bowel wall and softening the faecal mass. This makes the stool easier for children to pass and helps children achieve an ideal bowel movement.

Liquid Paraffin promotes restoration of normal colon function. Contains 50% paraffin oil. Contains no sugar, lactose, casein, gluten, egg, soy, nuts or peanuts. Children’s Parachoc has a pleasant Chocolate Vanilla flavour and can be mixed with cold milk, cold flavoured drinks, yoghurt or frozen into an ice block. Children’s Parachoc is a gentle lubricant laxative. Unlike other laxatives it is not associated with side effects such as lazy bowel.
Liquid Paraffin 2.5mL
Children 12 months to 6 years – 10mL to 15mL daily.
Children 7 years to 12 years – 20mL daily.
Adults – 40mL daily.
Always read the label. Follow the directions for use. Do not administer to children younger than 12 months. Do not administer to children under 2 years of age without the advice of a doctor. Do not administer over a long period of time without the advice of a doctor. This product in no way replaces the need for a high fibre diet and high fluid intake to ensure normal bowel function. Inappropriate prolonged use of laxatives is undesirable and may lead to dependence.
After taking Children’s Parachoc children must not lie down for at least two hours. This reduces the risk of the paraffin being regurgitated and inhaled into the lungs. Inadvertent inhalation of liquid paraffin can cause serious respiratory problems.
