Opioid Substitution
Why would I need opioid substitution?
Opioid dependence can occur after prolonged use of opioids within medication, and this can have devastating effects on a patient’s health and wellbeing. Opioid substitution programs have been proven to reduce a patient’s risk of overdose, reduce transmission of disease and to improve a patient’s general health, wellbeing and social functioning.
How does WholeLife help those with opioid dependencies?
Some of our pharmacies offer an Opioid Substitution Program for patients with an opioid dependency. The program should be initiated by the patient’s doctor, but can be managed within our pharmacies. If you or someone you know could benefit from participating in this program, please get in touch with your local WholeLife Pharmacy & Healthfoods store to see if they can help you.
